教科書本文: Steve Jobs, who started Apple, is one of those whose road to success has had many turns.

Steve Jobs started Apple.

Steve Jobs, who started Apple, was one of those people.

Those people?  What kind of people?

Those people whose road to success has had many turns.

We are talking about people who succeed in life.   People who become rich and famous.

Among those people who succeed in life, there are two types of people.

Type 1 is people who succeed immediately.  (と言って、しゅっ、というジェスチャー) those
people who begin  their job and become famous and rich very soon,
without any turns (といって、曲がりくねる様子を手で表現)

These people's road to success is very straight, without any turns.
They just go straight and they succeed.  They are lucky people!

Type 2 is people who succeed after many troubles, many ups and downs
(と言ってジェスチャー). They get into troubles, and they may want to give up
sometimes, but they keep trying, and after many ups and downs and
turns (といってジェスチャー)、they succeed at last (といって、おおげさにガッツポーズ).

Jobs was once fired by the company he started himself.  His life was
not an easy life.  He succeeded in the end, but his road to success
was not a straight road.  It had may ups and downs, many turns.

He was one of  that type of people. . people whose road to success had many turns.
